Visiting DC
If you are stopping in DC for part of the trip and are looking for things to do and see beyond the National Mall, the neighborhoods we highly recommend checking out are Georgetown, Dupont Circle, 14th Street, Logan Circle, and Eastern Market. The Smithsonian museums are great and free, but there are a lot of smaller museums and galleries outside of the National Mall. The Phillips Collection in Dupont Circle is one of our favorites.
